Dr Frank Cole, a retired UK General Medical Practitioner, is also a follower of Jesus and has had a love for Scripture since his teens. One of his retirement projects was to study for a BA (Theology) degree. That opened his eyes to new resources, ideas and skills that he has used since then developing his interest in studying the psalms.

Both before and during retirement he was also involved in mission trips, mainly to countries in Africa, in a trauma healing ministry to aid churches in the spiritual and emotional recovery from persecution, warfare and natural disasters. Laments played a part in this healing process and that led to insights into the role of trauma and trauma healing in the experiences of the authors of the lament psalms.  

And out of this grounding came the material and impetus to develop this website.
