I have made a detailed study of 26 Psalms that have been published on this site and believe that is enough to confirm that this style of study that is used to explore the poetic structure of the psalms and their cultural setting is a valid way for understanding the message that the psalmists intended to convey to their original audiences. And, in Yahweh’s plans, grace and care for us, his people in the 20th century and living in totally different cultures, we too can gain fresh insights and find helpful teaching.
However, these studies take time – I can take months and even years on some psalms – so after 10 years and now in my 80s other people need to share in this task if ever we are to work through the whole Psalter. Might you be willling and able to help?
You might like to start from scratch. Use one that I have not already covered and use the techniques used on this site. I would love to see what you discover and hopefully will be able to publish it here – or at least, please allow me to provide a link if your contribution is published elsewhere.
The other option is to develop a psalm that is already partly prepared. Below are the psalms I have started to investigate and have some idea about how the studies will develop. When I think I have completed the initial investigation and the psalm is ready for ‘fine-tuning’ and a more detailed study a small image accompanies the psalm number. Click on the psalm number to access the psalm. It can then be downloaded so you can continue the study independently. Again, I would love to see what you discover and hopefully will be able to publish it here – or at least please allow me to provide a link if your contribution is published elsewhere.
